Project Description

Ntaba African Safaris is a US-based tour operator specialising in safaris to Africa. Their target market is people aged 45-70+.

Their new site needed to reflect the requirements of their audience. Therefore, we made the site fully responsive. Now the site adjusts to the screen it is being viewed on, whether desktop, mobile or smartphone. This is critical in 2018 as the way people, of all ages, view content online is moving away from desktop to mobile and tablet.

The design of the old website was outdated and didn’t scream “high-end”. As Ntaba safaris are exclusive the website was re-designed accordingly to present a more sophisticated offering.

Design and responsiveness aside there was a lot more to do on the site. We needed to provide a great user experience and excite visitors about the incredible destinations on offer. It was essential for the site to inspire user confidence in Ntaba and make visitors book their safari with Ntaba.

Content Creation

Content is key when it comes to tantalising a user about a destination. Not only should content excite but more importantly, perhaps, inform. Therefore, we created highly informative destination pages to educate readers on things to see and do at the destination. Not only this, the content needs to answer questions visitors may have to stop them from seeking the answers elsewhere. 

We created and maintain a blog. The articles are inspired by popular topics relating to destinations and the safari experience.

Information Architecture

Having great content is a must but if users can’t find that information when using the website, its value is lost. Therefore, we had to consider the user journey and where visitors may expect to find certain pieces of information. 

This starts with the navigation. We re-labelled their navigation titles to better inform users about what they could find under a said title. Furthermore, we restructured the navigation to improve the flow of information and better categorise the webpages. 

Hero Images

If the content is key then imagery opens the door to a world of possibilities. Ntaba African Safaris has been in the safari game for some time. Therefore, they had a huge catalogue of beautiful imagery that wasn’t being utilised on their old site. 

We went through their media and selected the best images to excite users about the destinations and the incredible experiences they could have on a safari with Ntaba. Imagery is such a valuable tool for a safari operator. Just one image can make a person want to live an experience. We believe we have blanketed the site in such images!
