You are not alone. Many businesses in various industries, across the globe, are seeing a huge drop in traffic and subsequently enquiries. Especially those in travel and events.
What’s important at this time is to keep your brand alive and show the world that you are very much open for business…
Here are 5 things you can act on today to get more traffic to your website.
The old adage ‘content is king’ is as true today as the day it was first said. Without content, nobody will find you online, organically.
You can’t go into writing content blindly. There is a lot that goes into writing content that ranks but you can start by thinking of a question someone may ask about your service, your destination, your activity and answer it!
Long-form content performs best on Google. Follow these steps to produce something worthy that ranks.
You know your destination better than anyone, you can’t attend travel shows right now but you can continue to shout about your business.
Webinars are a great way to do this. Head over to your email marketing platform, create a newsletter informing your database that you will be hosting a webinar in 2 days time about a topic you know so well, such as ‘Why you haven’t truly experienced Africa until you’ve visited during the off-season’ [or something punchier!].
Of course, prepare a kick-ass webinar and showcase your business and your destination. You can do this for both industry contacts and customers. The more you do the better you will get at it and you are sure to see more engagement with your website after doing so.
It isn’t news but not everybody has got the memo: podcasts are pretty big right now! They’ve been around a long time but only recently have we seen a huge influx of shows and listenership.
Two things you can do; 1. Create your own podcast. 2. Be a guest speaker.
1. By creating a podcast you have an outlet to talk about your business and your offering all the time. It’s a great way to build a really engaged audience. Additionally, podcasts rank well on Google, so if you get it right you could see your ‘chat’ high on search.
2. Featuring on an existing podcast has huge benefits; it has an audience already – you will be introduced to them, you will appear as an expert on your activity/destination, you will probably get a link to your website which boosts the authority of your website and helps it perform better in search.
Your company may have a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter but are you active on social media? Nobody cares about your company more than you and this passion is infectious; others will buy into it.
Maximize the potential of social media; post videos, GO Live, talk about your passions and tie it in with your business. Don’t promote all the time or push for a sale, give information, provide value.
If you are already smashing Instagram and Facebook, get active on LinkedIn – it’s a very hot platform right now and the algorithm is very favourable to growing organically.
Your website is your shop window. Its purpose is to excite and engage visitors. It should take them on a journey that ends in an enquiry.
